Is Beauty Only Skin Deep?
March 15, 2016
There is more to beauty than what we can see. To help us maintain our outer beauty, we must take care of our insides too. We want to do all that we can to keep our hearts pumping and our blood flowing to all the right places at all the right times at a good healthy pace. One way to do that is to eat healthy and to exercise regularly.
No, there really isn't ANY way around this. We really do have to eat "fairly" healthy and EXERCISE. But, we don't have to do any of these to the EXTREME! We can pace ourselves and still get good results and be happy!
When it comes to exercising, just the thought of doing it is challenging, but that can be overcome. I can't really speak for others, but from my own experience, I know it can be done. The first thing to do is to make a commitment to do it. Then, start. Start somewhere; it doesn't even have to start at the beginning of the week. Sometimes waiting for the beginning of the week to come causes you to postpone it for another week and that week can lead to another week and so on. So why not start at that very moment.
I have also found that it really does help to plan it out and check it off as you complete each workout. You will feel accomplished and you will want to push on. You do not have to reinvent the wheel nor do you have to do this alone. You can encourage others to join you. I hope that you have at least one or two friends who will take the time to workout with you. But, if they won't or just can't for WHATEVER reason, that's okay too because you have a gigantic range of people who will be willing to join you virtually.
If you'd like, I'll be one of your first virtual workout buddies (SpecialScents). I've been a member of Beachbody for several years now and I love it. I have some of their programs and I login my workouts through their online platform. I even print out some of the full workout schedules that they have available so that I can have a ready view of my progress. You can purchase their workout videos and take them wherever you go, or now you can stream their workouts as often as you want. They currently offer a FREE 30 day trial for the streaming. That one is totally new to me and I haven't tried it yet. Whichever one you choose (or both), if you are serious about your health, you will fall in love with your accomplishments.
Before I started my workout journey with Beachbody, my feet would always hurt; mostly when I first get up after sitting or laying down, and I had occasional sharp back pains. My back pain went away and never returned just after working out for three or four weeks. I didn't really pay too much attention to my feet, but I noticed the pain in my feet weren't there a few months later. But, my feet pain came back sometime after I got pregnant with my youngest son. I had stopped exercising altogether (I probably should have continued with modifications). Since then, I've been pretty lazy on the exercise side of things and I have given birth to my youngest daughter. Even through all of that, I am proud to say that I still have not gained back all of the weight that I started out with. Now, I'm slowly getting back into my exercise routine.
I don't claim to be the most beautiful person in the world, but I am satisfied with my unique beauty. I encourage you to embrace your uniqueness and Live Happy!-- Joanne Davis
